Füllkrug was on the Hammers’s radar before last campaign but the forward decided to change Werder Bremen with Borussia Dortmund and remain in the Bundesliga, where he netted 16 goals in 46 matches in all tournaments. Niclas was a crucial part of his former team’s run to the UCL final.
“I know the EPL is the best league in the world, and for me, it is the right time to play here, and it is an honor to represent a huge team like West Ham,” the German forward claimed after his transfer.
Niclas added that he has been thinking about the Hammers for a long time as he knows the technical director, Tim Steidten, as the 2 were together at Werder Bremen.
Niclas (31) was in Germany’s squad at the home Euro and netted 2 goals in 5 matches.
