The draw for the Champions League group stage will take place on Thursday. Three more games will have to be played today to determine the final three participants in the race, but the first two pots are now clear.
There is real possibility that three of the most popular and strong teams in Europe end up in one group. The reigning champions Manchester City is definitely the team that everyone wants to avoid in the draw. From second pot Real Madrid looks like the clear favorite among the rest, while in third is AC Milan who won Serie A a season ago and reached last season’s Champions League semi-finals.
Here is how the teams are divided:
FIRST POT: Manchester City, Sevilla, Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern, PSG, Benfica, Feyenoord
SECOND POT: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter, Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Porto, Arsenal
THIRD POT: Shakhtar, Salzburg, AC Milan, Braga, Lazio, Red Star, Rangers*, Copenhagen*
FOURTH POT: Young Boys, Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, Celtic, Newcastle, Union Berlin, Lens, Royal Antwerp*
Note: Teams with an asterisk are not guaranteed participants
