Paul Merson has expressed his firm believe that Arsenal will lift the Premier League trophy if they come out victorious in a crunch clash against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners currently sit 8 points in front of City, who have played one game less. The two teams will face against one another in what promises to be a title deciding game later this month.
However, despite the tough fixtures that lie ahead, Paul Merson believes the upcoming clash with Liverpool will be a pivotal point in the Gunners title run-in.
‘This game is a worry for Arsenal,’ he told Sportskeeda,
‘Liverpool did not play Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, or Trent Alexander-Arnold against Chelsea.’
Liverpool would be extra motivated to get the full 3 points as it pretty much remains their only chance to stay in the fight for the top 4. Recent struggles, which saw the Merseyside lose twice and draw one after the memorable 7-0 hammering over Manchester United, have seen the Reds sink in the table.
They currently sit 8th with 43 points, 10 adrift from Newcastle United and Manchester United, who are tied with 53 in 3rd and 4th.
