Mikel Arteta’s side made their 1st offer for Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as they are looking for Aaron Ramsdale’s replacement after the end of the summer transfer window.
Currently, the Catalan side is unwilling to let the goalkeeper leave for that money because Joan has a release clause that is 10 million euros higher. Negotiations are ongoing between the clubs as Espanyol demand 20 million euros now + 10 million euros in add-ons to let the goalkeeper leave now.
The Catalan team’s head coach revealed that he couldn’t do anything to stop Garcia’s transfer. “I can’t do anything to stop Joan leave. If Arsenal pay his release clause, it’s up to him where he wants to continue his career. At the moment, I’m just happy that he is still here, and I hope that he will remain with our team beyond the summer transfer window.”

The Gunners have less than 36 hours until the end of the current transfer window to make the transfer of Garcia, as chances now stand at 50/50 if Joan land in London.
