Mikel Arteta will not be penalized for his comments following Arsenal’s 0-1 defeat to Newcastle last month.
Gunners’ head coach expressed his anger regarding the decision to allow Anthony Gordon’s goal at St James’ Park last month.
He was later charged with a violation of rule E3.1 of the Football Association’s regulations, alleging that his comments constituted improper conduct towards a match official. The Spaniard provided evidence during the hearing last week.
However, an independent commission has determined that the FA’s charge is not proven. In its reasons, the commission stated that Arteta’s comments in his post-match interviews “do not breach FA Rule E3, whether considered separately or collectively.”, which means he will be at the bench for the upcoming games and will not pay any fines for his behavior.
