The Catalans were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw in a second consucutive game

Barcelona dropped another two points in the title race against Real Madrid after a hapless 0-0 draw away from home against Getafe on Sunday.


Xavi’s men still have a commanding lead of 11 points, but the inability to score twice in a row to a clearly inferior side must be a worrying sign for the league leaders.

The first half was a tactical battle as neither team could edge out the other. Both sides were concentrating more on the physical side rather than the pure football as there were plenty of fouls displayed.

Barcelona struggled to create anything meaningful in front of goal as Xavi made two attacking substitutions with Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, but to no avail as neither came up with something dangerous.

Getafe even had the opportunity to win it towards the end so Barcelona had to be grateful to salvage the point.
