Chelsea have spent £21.5m in their quest to sign Graham Potter and members of his coaching staff back in September, as it was shown by recently published reports.
The 47-year old coach was appointed on September 8 on a five-year deal in the place of Thomas Tuchel. He was chosen over some elusive names such as ex-Spurs and PSG manager Mouricio Pochetino and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim.
Potter’s release clause at Brighton is reported to be around £15m, but recent accounts, published by the team show exactly how much was paid for his compensation and his colleagues of the coaching staff.
The people in question are Bjorn Hamberg, Billy Reid and assistant recruitment chief Kyle Macaulay, all of which are within Potter’s inner circle.
The other notable detail is the fee, given to Potter for each Premier League victory. With the Englishman enduring a torrid time with the club, bagging only eight Premier League wins in a span of over six mounts, he has cost the club around £2.7m in fees, much to the annoyance of the Chelsea supporters.
