The Denver Broncos will have to be patient to see how much LB Drew Sanders has improved from his rookie campaign because the 3rd-round selection in the past year will now be sidelined for at least most of the 2024 campaign.
He sustained a torn Achilles early on in the organization’s offseason program a month ago, and he had undergone a procedure to repair the torn tendon. His recovery time is expected to be between 6 and 9 months.
In February, Broncos GM George Paton said that Drew Sanders — who is now out until at least midseason after a torn Achilles tendon — would “probably” end up as an edge rusher.

It is still possible that we will see the linebacker on the field before the end of the year if everything goes well with his recovery. It is unknown what day Drew sustained the problem given manager Sean Payton has consistently claimed he would not reveal injuries in the offseason or players’ specific progress in recovery.
Denver, knowing how much time Drew would miss, did pick Utah outside LB Jonah Elliss in the 3rd-round (76th overall) in April’s NFL draft.
