Only eight teams in NBA history have started a season in such form

The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their winning streak to an impressive 12 games, remaining undefeated since the start of the NBA season with a 119-113 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

This achievement places them among an elite group, as only the eighth team in NBA history to begin a season with 12 consecutive wins. The Bulls posed a formidable challenge, leading by as many as 9 points in the third quarter, but Cleveland’s bench players sparked a comeback that solidified their spot at the top of the Eastern Conference.

Donovan Mitchell led the scoring for Cleveland, delivering 36 points, with an incredible 25 of those points coming in the first half. Mitchell’s performance was crucial for the Cavaliers as they continue their momentum under head coach Kenny Atkinson, who is in his debut season with the team.

Atkinson, previously an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, also brings head coaching experience from his time with the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2020. The Cavaliers’ hot start is a testament to their depth, resilience, and Atkinson’s leadership.
