Everything went smoothly for the Premier League side until the 42nd minute when Marcus Rashford received a direct red card and left his team with 10-man on the pitch. The shock for Manchester United until the end of the 1st half was even greater because FC Copenhagen scored twice and tied the match 2-2 after the first 45 minutes.
Mohamed Elyounoussi scored in the 45th minute for 2-1 after Diogo Goncalves’s assist, and Diogo Goncalves himself converted a penalty in the extra time of the 1st half to even the result.
However, even with 1 less man on the pitch, Man Utd got the lead again after Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 69th minute as VAR gave the Red Devils a penalty after a very controversial handball by the Danish team defender.
That wasn’t all and the home club tied the result again as Rasmus Falk netted in the 83rd minute for 3-3. To make things even worse for ten Hag and his side, Copenhagen took the lead for the 1st time in the match in the 87th minute after a fantastic shot from Roony Bardghji.
