The champions left three points behind Arsenal with a game extra

Manchester City recorder another disappointing result in recent times as they drew 2-2 at home versus Crystal Palace. The champions were leading 2-0, but a later penalty shared the points at Etihad.

The Citizens took the lead in the 24th minute. Phil Foden passed to Jack Grealish who sent the ball into Henderson’s goal. After a long review with VAR for offside, the goal was awarded.

At the beginning of the second half, Manchester City increased their lead. In the 54th minute, Jack Grealish crossed into the box, where Rodri failed to play, but Rico Lewis was in the right place to score his first Premier League goal.

In the 76th minute, Crystal Palace pulled one goal back. Jeffrey Schlupp received a very good long ball and saw the opportunity to pass to Jean-Philippe Mateta, who sent the ball into Ederson’s goal from close range.

In the third minute of stoppage time, Phil Foden fouled Mateta in the box, resulting in a penalty for the Eagles. Behind the ball stood Michael Olise, who sent Ederson into the opposite corner and equalized the score at Etihad.

With the point, City is now three behind the leader Arsenal, who have a game in hand as well. Crystal Palace are 15th with 17 points.
