England international Jude Bellingham has revealed he received an encouraging message from compatriot and Inter Miami owner David Beckham following his move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old midfielder became the seventh British footballer in history to play for the Spanish giants. He was signed for €103m last month, following in the footsteps of players such as Beckham, Gareth Bale and Michael Owen.
Beckham was probably the most famous player to make the move to the Spanish capital from Manchester United in 2003, and in recent days he has contacted Bellingham to congratulate him for the deal.
“David Beckham sent me a short message to wish me luck and all the best,” Jude Bellingham told the PA news agency.

“It’s one of those times where you hear a lot of things and advice and I manage to sift the good from the bad. So far I’ve felt a really positive attitude from ex-players. I’ll try to keep that and at some point contact them for to see how they have adapted to life in Spain,” he added.
One of the things Bellingham will need to do to adjust more quickly is learn the language. “I already have a special app on my phone. I started 9 days ago and I’m taking it seriously. Spanish is much easier to learn than German. I studied Spanish at school,” said the midfielder.
