Díaz scores twice as Colombia defeat Brazil 2-1

Luis Diaz led Colombia to a comeback triumph against Brazil in an emotional game as his dad watched him live from the stadium after being freed by his kidnappers.

The Reds forward netted twice in 5 2^nd half minutes to inspire his country to a comeback in Barranquilla’s 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Luis scored his 1^st goal in the match in the 75^th minute to tie 1-1 after Martinelli netted the 1^st goal in the game in the 1^st half to give the halftime lead to Brazil. Diaz pointed to the stands where his father was sitting, and the broadcast showed his teary-eyed dad celebrating his son’s goal with his arms raised.

Diaz admitted he had experienced “tough moments” over the last month but added: “Situations make you strong and brave, and I think that’s just a game, not just a game but life.
