Luis Diaz led Colombia to a comeback triumph against Brazil in an emotional game as his dad watched him live from the stadium after being freed by his kidnappers.
The Reds forward netted twice in 5 2nd half minutes to inspire his country to a comeback in Barranquilla’s 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Luis scored his 1st goal in the match in the 75th minute to tie 1-1 after Martinelli netted the 1st goal in the game in the 1st half to give the halftime lead to Brazil. Diaz pointed to the stands where his father was sitting, and the broadcast showed his teary-eyed dad celebrating his son’s goal with his arms raised.
Diaz admitted he had experienced “tough moments” over the last month but added: “Situations make you strong and brave, and I think that’s just a game, not just a game but life.
