The Spanish side was subjected to some obscene chants during their latest La Liga game

Getafe has showed his strong disapproval towards the intolerant chants aimed at the club in their latest game at Athletic Bilbao.

The home supporters took aim at new loan signing Mason Greenwood, calling him out to die and suffer.

The 21-year-old was infamously charged with rape and assault, but all of them were dropped in February this year. However, Manchester United declined to reinstate him and now he is playing in Spain, where he has become a victim of some hostility.

The club stated that this is not the first case and the incidents have been reoccurring without giving any specific names of staff or players.

“The players and coaches of Getafe are aware of the media impact of playing in the best league in the world,” the statement from the club said.

“But, beyond that, they are people with feelings, who have family and friends who suffer with them and deserve respect.”
