One of the goals, of course, was scored by the club’s superstar Erling Haaland after a penalty in the 3rd minute. That was the Norwegian 34th goal in his 1st season in the league.
Erling is now tied for the single-season goals record with the legends Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, but Shearer and Cole did it in a season with 42 matches, while Haaland will have 38 games.
Haaland needs to score only one more goal in the remaining 6 games of the Sky Blues in the Premier League to go solo on the top for the best goal scorer in a season.
Erling Haaland is the first player to score 50+ goals across all competitions in a single English top-flight season since 1931…
