Anthony Davis had a triple-double in the absence of LeBron James, but it wasn't enough for LA

Lauri Markkanen showcased an outstanding performance with 29 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, leading the Utah Jazz to a 132-123 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

Collin Sexton contributed 27 points, while Jordan Clarkson added 21, propelling the Jazz to their eighth consecutive home win and fifth consecutive victory overall. John Collins and Keyonte George each provided 19 points, with Collins also securing a team-high 13 rebounds.

Despite LeBron James being sidelined due to a left ankle injury, Anthony Davis recorded a triple-double. However, the Jazz turned the tide of the game after the first quarter. Utah’s dominance in transition, amassing 27 fast-break points and capitalizing with 23 points off turnovers, played a pivotal role in their success.

D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with an impressive 39 points and eight assists. Austin Reaves contributed 19 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter, and Rui Hachimura added 17. Davis managed a triple-double with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists but struggled with a 5-of-21 shooting performance from the field.
