The anticipation surrounding the “Ballon d’Or” award is intense, and this year, the spotlight is on Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham. French media have identified Bellingham as the leading candidate for the most prestigious individual award, which would mark a significant departure from the dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in past years. Neither Erling Haaland nor Kylian Mbappé, who were runners-up last year, seem to be strong contenders this time around.

Bellingham has been instrumental for Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti, playing a pivotal role in their Champions League triumph. His contributions on the field have been consistently remarkable, earning him recognition and admiration across the football world. Additionally, Bellingham’s leadership has propelled England to the final of the European Championship, further solidifying his case for the Ballon d’Or.

Should England emerge victorious against Spain in Sunday’s final, Bellingham’s chances of clinching the Ballon d’Or would likely be cemented.  Another contender from Real Madrid is Vinícius Júnior.
