Ex-Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp aimed a dig at several of the Reds’ rivals during a “Danke, Jürgen” farewell event yesterday, as he talked about the Sky Blues’ alleged financial rules breaches, the Blues’ owners, and the Red Devils’ saga with Jadon Sancho.
The German manager returned to the city for the send-off event at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, 9 days after his final game at the helm – a 2-0 win vs. Wolverhampton at Anfield.
Klopp triumphed with 7 major titles during his 9-year period at the club, lifting the UCL in 2019 and securing the EPL title the next year. But the Reds lost the Premier League 2 times by a single point from Man City.
The Sky Blues have been charged with 115 breaches of the EPL’s financial rules, with the Premier League’s CEO Richard Masters sharing in the past month that the hearing over the team from Etihad alleged breaches will take place soon.
Klopp aimed dig at that claiming that there could be a court decision that would mean that he won the EPL 3 times.
