The Reds will miss some key players for the upcoming game against Burnley

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp expressed his concern over midfielder Thiago Alcantara’s recent injury setback, deeming it “not cool” as the player had just returned to the first team after a prolonged absence. Thiago, who had been sidelined since April with a hip issue, made a late substitute appearance in the team’s recent 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, showcasing promising form in training.

However, Klopp revealed that the 32-year-old is now facing another setback due to a muscle injury, forcing him to miss the upcoming Premier League game against Burnley. This adds to Liverpool’s challenges, with Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai also sidelined. Additionally, Conor Bradley, who recently lost his father, is still away with his family.

Klopp acknowledged the unfortunate situation with Thiago, emphasizing that while it’s not a major injury, it is unwelcome news for both the player and the club. Meanwhile, he expressed understanding for Bradley’s situation, emphasizing that the young player will be given the time he needs with his family before returning to training.

Despite the setbacks, Klopp highlighted Bradley’s impressive performance in recent games, stepping in for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold and contributing to Liverpool’s continued lead in the Premier League table. Klopp’s team remains at the top with 51 points after 23 games, and he acknowledged the upcoming challenge from Manchester City, who can surpass Liverpool with a win in their next fixture against Everton.

Regarding Salah’s recovery from a hamstring injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations, Klopp provided a positive update, stating that the Egyptian forward is progressing well and might be part of training in the coming weeks. Klopp emphasized the importance of supporting Salah during his recovery, with the hope of having him back in action soon.
