The Reds took first blood, but scored three consecutive goals for the victory at San Siro

Liverpool secured a confident 3-1 victory over AC Milan in their Champions League return, bouncing back from their unexpected loss to Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

AC Milan took an early lead after just three minutes, with Christian Pulisic finding the net with a well-placed strike across goal. However, Liverpool quickly regrouped and took control of the match.

Ibrahima Konate equalized in the 23rd minute with a powerful header from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick, after Mohamed Salah had already hit the crossbar. Salah hit the bar again, but Virgil van Dijk put Liverpool ahead just before half-time with a close-range header from a Konstantinos Tsimikas corner.

In the second half, Cody Gakpo’s impressive run led to a perfectly timed pass for Dominik Szoboszlai to score a simple tap-in in the 67th minute, securing the win for Liverpool. Federico Chiesa, a summer signing, made his brief debut by replacing Salah in stoppage time.
