Manchester City will demand Pep Guardiola to make his decision on his future with the club by Christmas.
The Spaniard has 1 year left on his deal with the Premier League champions.
The team from Etihad would want Guardiola to sign a new contract after leading the club to 15 major titles, featuring 6 EPL titles, since he becoming the club’s head coach in 2016. However, Pep’s authority over the chiefs means he will be given the opportunity to decide when to leave his role.
Pep is thinking about leaving the Sky Blues after the new expanded FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, and the owners want him to reveal his final decision by Xmas.
From the club know how tough will be to find Guaridola’s replacement and that’s why they want to have several months to look for a new head coach if Pep decides to leave at the end of the upcoming campaign.
Pep already hinted that the upcoming season could be his last.
#ManCity assistant, Carlos Vicens: “Pep [Guardiola] has been at @ManCity for many seasons, the club is very grateful for his work, I suppose they will sit down and decide [on his future] when the time comes. We have to leave Pep alone now and let him recover from the season…"
