Manchester United are currently in talks with representatives of Brighton for potential summer move for midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, reports say.
The 24-year old has impressed both on the international stage and on club level, starting in all games of Argentina’s memorable run to the World Cup golden medals and bagging 10 goals in 31 appearances for his club.
It is well known that Erik Ten Hag is keen on adding another midfielder to his squad over the summer to partner his current asset Casemiro. And lately Mac Allister has jumped high on the Dutchman’s wishlist.
However, the task of luring the 24-year old Argentinian will not be as simple as Ten Hag would have wished, since the midfielder signed a new contract with Brighton before the World Cup, which ensures he will stay at the club up until 2025 with a possible one year extension.
If United were to purchase Mac Allister from Brighton they will have to splash out the cash in compensation for the potential exterminated contract.
