Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has not changed his mind and continues to refuse to sign a new contract with the club. The 24-year-old player announced his intention already in the summer in an official letter to the club’s bosses. Recently, there have been reports that he is inclined to change his position, but according to “90Min” this is not true and the player has no intention of signing a new contract with the Parisians.
The news that Mbappe was refusing to renew came as a surprise to PSG chiefs in the summer, who tried everything to change his mind. Initially, the player was excluded from the squad and practically did not take part in the pre-season training. The desire of the club was to sell him, but the interest in him was not that great, with the most serious offer coming from Saudi Arabia from Al-Hilal, but the striker refused to go to the Middle East.
In the end, at Parc des Princes, they decided to change their approach and give it a try. Mbappe had a conversation with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and a little later he was brought back into the squad. It was this that gave rise to rumors that the footballer had agreed to pre-emptive action, with the new contract rumored to have a relatively low €80m buyout clause to facilitate a possible transfer next summer, although in for the club to pay a decent amount for him. However, it turns out that there is no such agreement and Mbappe remains in his position that he will not re-sign and will leave as a free agent after the end of the season. The only thing the player has given up is the loyalty bonus the club owed him. It is in the amount of 80 million euros, which Parisians will still save.
