Brooklyn had a great chance to win the game at the end with the last attack, but D'Angelo Russell didn't score his three-pointer

Austin Reaves delivered a career-high 38 points as the Los Angeles Lakers edged out the Brooklyn Nets 102-101 on Friday night. LeBron James contributed 29 points, and the Lakers secured their second straight win in a nail-biter.

The Nets, still reeling from their franchise-worst 59-point loss to the LA Clippers on Wednesday, had a final chance to steal the game.

However, D’Angelo Russell’s three-point attempt with 2.6 seconds remaining missed, and James secured the rebound to seal the victory.

Reaves was outstanding, shooting 13-for-23 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. He erupted for 15 points in the fourth quarter, including three clutch three-pointers. His previous career high of 35 points, achieved twice—including on Dec. 31 against Cleveland—was surpassed in this impressive outing.

Russell, playing against the Lakers after being traded to Brooklyn, finished with 19 points. Zaire Williams and Tosan Evbuomwan each added 15 for the Nets, who fought hard but ultimately fell short.
