The New Orleans Saints have dismissed manager Dennis Allen after losing their 7th consecutive match at the past weekend, the franchise shared today.
Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi will lead the franchise until they hire a replacement.
New Orleans triumphed in their 1st 2 matches this campaign but haven’t won since, with their latest defeat coming to the Carolina Panthers in a 23-22 loss.

“Allen has been part of our franchise for many seasons. Dennis is highly regarded within the league. He has been extremely loyal and professional and, without a doubt, an excellent football coach for the Saints. Because of that, it is very tough for me and our team,” New Orleans owner Gayle Benson claimed.
This is the 1st mid-campaign dismissing for New Orleans since the late Tom Benson purchased the organization in 1985. The last in-campaign dismissal came when Dick Nolan was fired after an 0-12 start to his 3rd campaign in 1980.
