Sevilla, who have had a difficult start in the Spanish La Liga, secured a comfortable 5-1 victory over the looming underdogs Almeria in the first leg of the 7th round.
Sevilla, who won the Europa League last season, have been at the bottom of the table so far. But today at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium they scored five goals and all through different players.
Loic Bade received a cross in the 7 minute, fired a header, but sent the ball into the crossbar. However, Youssef En Nesiri was the fastest at the rebound and put it into the net.
Not a minute had passed and the defending Europa League champions doubled their lead, Dodi Lucebacchio firing the ball into the top right corner, finishing off an excellent individual attack.
Shortly before the end of the first half, the home side took a 3-0 lead. The goal came in the 38th minute through Suso.
After the break, Sevilla’s goals continued to come. Pedrosa sent the ball to Erik Lamela and he tapped it, going into the net with a deflection.
Almeria pulled one back from the penalty spot, but Quique Salas, after an excellent cross from Juanlu Sanchez, made the final score 5:1. Sevilla will face Barcelona in the coming weekend.
