With his move Verratti becomes the second high-profile name to join the Qatari League, following the footsteps of Philippe Coutinho, who sealed a loan move to Al-Duhail.
Verratti spent 11 seasons with the French giants, establishing himself as one of the most potent midfielders not only in their squad, but in the world as well. The 30-year-old collected a staggering 9 Ligue 1 titles and 6 Coupe de France. He was also instrumental in PSG’s best ever Champions League campaign in 2020, where they succumbed to 1-0 loss in the final to Bayern Munich.
“I was very proud to wear the colors of Paris St-Germain for more than a decade, to rub shoulders with so many great players and to win 30 trophies,” Verratti said.
“Paris, the club and its supporters will always have a very special place in my heart. I will be Parisian forever.”
