The contract makes Antoine the highest-paid DB in National Football League history – the 1st time in modern league history that a safety will earn that much money.
The defensive back contract features 45 million dollars guaranteed, the most ever given to a player in his position.
Tampa Bay has focused on re-inking their own star footballers after the end of the season. QB Baker Mayfield (3 years, 100 million dollars), WR Mike Evans (2 years, 41 million dollars), and LB Lavonte David (1 year, 8.5 million dollars) have also re-inked with the Bucs.
Antoine received the franchise tag from Tampa Bay two months ago. Nine footballers received the franchise or transition tag from their organizations and Winfield becomes the 8th to sign a long-term deal.
Antoine was named Buccaneers captain in the last campaign for the 1st time in his career.
