Wolverhampton were mad after their goal in the extra time to tie the game vs. West Ham was ruled out after a VAR check today, with boss Gary O’Neil describing it as 1 of the worst decisions he had ever seen.
The manager thought that his time will win a point when Maximilian Kilman headed in from a corner, but official Tony Harrington was sent to the VAR monitor to check for an offside as Tawanda Chirewa was in front of Hammers goalkeeper.
While the Wolves player was in an offside position, Kilman’s ball went into the opposite corner, with the team sharing that Fabianski had no chance of saving it anyway.
The 2-1 defeat keeps Wolverhampton in the 11th place and saw 7th-placed Hammers with the same number of points as the Red Devils before Manchester United game against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
“According to me, to the opposition head coach and to the Hammers goalkeeper, it was absurd to rule out that goal for an offside,” shared with the media after the match Gary O’Neil.
