Barcelona is reportedly encountering challenges in registering Dani Olmo for the upcoming season, according to a report from Cadena SER. The uncertainty surrounding the registration of the Spanish international, who joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig for €55 million (with an additional €7 million potentially payable based on his performance), has raised concerns.

The club’s management has struck a deal with the American company Aramark, which will provide Barcelona with €40 million as part of a partnership in the catering sector. However, this sum still leaves the club short of the additional €15 million required to register Olmo.
To address this financial shortfall, Barcelona is expected to sell one of their key players—Raphinha, Ronald Araújo, or Frenkie de Jong—in the near future. The Catalan club’s ongoing financial struggles have made it necessary for them to prove they have secured the necessary funds to finalize Olmo’s registration and be okay to La Liga regulations.
As the situation develops, Barcelona faces a looming deadline, with their first match of the new season set to take place away against Valencia on August 17.
