Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks ignited a crucial fourth-quarter surge, propelling the New York Knicks to a 98-91 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The Knicks’ formidable defense once again proved pivotal in securing the win.
Jalen Brunson led the scoring with 42 points for the Knicks (40-27), who extended their winning streak to four out of the past five games. During this stretch, they have held opponents to no more than 93 points in each game.
Domantas Sabonis recorded 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Kings (38-28), who held a 79-75 lead after De’Aaron Fox’s free throws early in the fourth quarter. However, Sacramento struggled to find scoring opportunities thereafter.
New York seized control with a 9-0 run, highlighted by Bogdanovic’s scoring prowess and Burks’ contributions, to establish a lead they never relinquished. Despite Sacramento closing the gap to 94-91, the Knicks tightened their defense, preventing the Kings from scoring for the remainder of the game.
Brunson’s stellar performance included 17-for-28 shooting and five made three-poInters, marking his seventh 40-point game of the season. He also contributed four rebounds and four steals.
Isaiah Hartenstein and Josh Hart dominated the boards for the Knicks, collecting 14 and 13 rebounds, respectively. Donte DiVincenzo added 15 points, while Burks chipped in with 12.
For the Kings, Fox provided support with 20 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, while Malik Monk and Harrison Barnes contributed 18 and 16 points, respectively. Keegan Murray added 11 points.
Despite their efforts, Sacramento struggled offensively, recording their second-lowest point total of the season, just two points more than their lowest tally in a loss to Houston in November.
