Graphic images have emerged showing that the ball had gone over the line for a throw-in in the build up to their attack, which led to the goal.
That left the Real Madrid bench furious, which resulted in head-coach Carlo Ancelotti being booked.
However, the footage is not official and therefore inconclusive.
‘It seemed to me that the ball went out,’ infuriated Ancelotti commented after the game.
‘In addition, the previous play was a corner. The referee has not been attentive. And he has given me a yellow card. I have told him that the cards have to be taken from those inside the field, not to those outside.’
The problem with these kind of situations is that match official do not have technologies for throw-ins, making it impossible for a definite decision.
