David De Gea’s contract saga has reached a boiling point with the 32-year-old set to become a free agent after today June 30.
The Spaniard has spent 12 years with Manchester United, making 545 appearances and rising to be one of the finest goalkeepers in the world.
De Gea won the Premier League Golden Glove for the 2nd time in his career for the most clean sheets – 17.

Everything seemed smooth between him and manager Erik Ten Hag, who reassured the fans at the end of the season that De Gea is staying.
However, all has taken a bitter turn for both sides as the Spaniard was expected to take a pay cut from his record £375,000-per-week deal he signed in 2019. But when the new offer was about to be delivered, the club withdrew and came up with an even lower one, which the 32-year-old naturally declined.
Should De Gea leave, United will be in a spot of bother since an adequate replacement is yet to be found. It is understood that the Red Devils are in talks with Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Andre Onana.
In the meantime United have triggered a one-year option for veteran keeper Tom Heaton, while Dean Henderson is recovering from thigh injury he sustained in his loan spell at Notingham Forrest.
