Guardiola: Officials, VARs must be more ‘humble’

The Manchester City head coach shares referees and VARs are in jeopardy of taking the spotlight while encouraging officials to “step back” after the controversy during the Reds loss to the Spurs on Saturday in London.

Pep admits he can understand the Reds’ shock and advises officials to be „humbler“ and allow the spotlight to stay on the footballers.

“They must create a system where the main focus is the players and the football itself,” the Sky Blues manager claimed.

“In all the countries, not just in the U.K. The officials and the VARs are the leading roles. And the Oscar goes to… they have to allow the attention to be where it belongs – on the pitch.”
