Jimmy Butler was on the bench and watched almost one minute video of his Miami Heat highlights play on the big screen above him at Kaseya Center.
After that, Miami trashed Golden State without Steph Curry 112-86 in front of a packed venue.
“I still love the city and the supporters here,” Jimmy shared. “The tribute was classy. I won’t hide that I got emotional. I wanted to win the match for the Warriors, but it didn’t happen. We will get back stronger.”
The former Heat star was booed the majority of the time when he touched the ball, missed 5 of his 1st 6 shots, as he ended the game with only 11 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists.
Heat’s starting 5 all finished with double-digits, led by Bam Adebayo’s 27 points and 8 boards.
Golden State began this 6-match road trip with 2 straight defeats against the Hawks and the Heat. Warriors superstar Curry didn’t play in both games with a pelvic contusion, although Kerr revealed he thinks Steph will be able to play in the team’s next match at the end of the week against the Pelicans.
“I continue to say that I’m very grateful, and I ain’t spiteful towards nobody."
