Nikola Jokic had to be seated on the bench inside the first two minutes after heated start

Jalen Brunson had a standout performance with 30 points and 15 assists, while OG Anunoby contributed 23 points to help the New York Knicks secure a 122-112 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. The win marked the Knicks’ fifth straight triumph.

Karl-Anthony Towns also played a key role for New York, recording a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. The Knicks capitalized on Nikola Jokic’s early foul trouble, jumping out to a strong start and later pulling away with a decisive run in the final minutes.

Jamal Murray led Denver with 33 points, while Jokic managed 17 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Russell Westbrook added 14 points and 14 rebounds, but the Nuggets fell to 0-3 on their five-game road trip.

Jokic ran into trouble early, picking up two fouls within the first 90 seconds of the game. After Anunoby blew by him for a basket, the Knicks launched a 15-0 run to take an 18-6 lead, forcing the Serbian star to the bench just over two minutes into the game. Jokic didn’t return until midway through the second quarter and didn’t record double digits in any statistical category until the fourth.

Denver made a late push, cutting the deficit to four points after back-to-back 3-pointers from Jokic and Aaron Gordon with about 5:30 left in the game. However, the Knicks responded with an 8-2 run to restore their double-digit cushion and seal the victory.

Up next, the Nuggets travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Friday night, while the Knicks will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.
