Girona continues to prove their amazing record in La Liga is not a fluke, as they defeated Barcelona 4-2 away to go on top of the standings with two points over Real Madrid.
The visitors started quite actively in the first minutes. First, Dovbik pressured Jules Kounde and won a corner. A cross followed, after which David López attempted an acrobatic strike but missed the goal.
In the 12th minute Viktor Tsygankov received a great pass behind Christensen’s back. The Ukrainian advanced with the ball and passed to Artem Dovbyk. The striker sent the ball into the crossbar and into the net.

Just 7 minutes later, Barcelona equalized. Rafinha crossed from a corner and Robert Lewandowski made a great move and rebound to outplay the defenders and score to make it 1-1.
Five minutes before the end of the half, Girona took the lead again. After a phenomenal multi-pass attack, Miguel Gutierrez found himself in a shooting position and beat Iñaki Peña with a powerful shot.
Ten minutes before the end, Gazzaniga kicked the ball into the Barcelona half and Stuani headed it down. Valeri Fernandez was the fastest to get to the ball and finished with a perfect shot in the corner for 3:1.

In the 95th minute Girona scored a fourth. Christian Stuani was the one to send the ball into the net with his 6th goal of the season. In the dying seconds Ilkay Gundogan pulled one goal back from a pass from Ferran Torres, but it didn’t cheer up the home fans.
