The big question was how would the new mega signing Damian Lillard fare on his debut and the 33-year old did not disappoint, notching 14 points finishing 3-for-10 shooting including 2 for 7 from 3-point range. Overall, he played 22 minutes, coming off with 4:41 left in the third quarter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who played for 15 minutes, shot 7 for 10 and finished the night with 16 points.
Meanwhile, Anthony Davis shone for the Lakers in LeBron James’ absence, notching 16 points in what turned out to be a disappointing night for the Los Angeles team. He also had 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals in 19 minutes of play.
