The London side opened the scoring, but Kovacic brace saved the Citizens

Mateo Kovacic scored twice as Manchester City secured their first Premier League victory in three games, defeating a resilient Fulham side 3-2 at the Etihad.

City started strongly but fell behind when Raul Jimenez’s clever backheel set up Andreas Pereira to score from close range. Fulham’s Adama Traore had two chances to extend their lead but was thwarted by City keeper Ederson and later missed a crucial opportunity inside the box.

Kovacic then made Fulham pay, scoring twice. His first came from a deflected shot after a half-cleared corner, and his second was a powerful strike from the edge of the area just after halftime.

Despite dominating, City faced pressure late on as Traore once again tested Ederson, and Rodrigo Muniz’s goal gave Fulham a glimmer of hope. However, Jeremy Doku’s stunning strike into the top corner put City 3-1 ahead, before Muniz’s late goal added tension to the closing stages.

Fulham could not find an equalizer, and City extended their unbeaten home run to 50 games in all competitions, becoming just the fourth English top-flight team to achieve this feat.
