The Naples team have grasped a first league trophy since 1990

Napoli are crowned Serie A champions after a nerve-wracking 1-1 draw against Udinese on Thursday night.


It was a scrappy start for the title contenders as they fell behind 1-0 early on in the 13th minute through Sandi Lovric.

The Neapolitans struggled to create dangerous chances in the first half as the home team held on to their lead.

However, everything changed after the half-time interval as Luciano Spalleti’s men emerged determined, focused and aggressive.

Their attitude change soon paid off as star player Victor Osimhen bagged his 22 goal of the season in the league to draw the score level at 1-1.

Napoli continued pressing and even had a disallowed goal for a foul play by Osimhen.

Eventually the visitors held on to that precious point and with it they are now crowned Serie A champions for the first time since 1990, when the legendary Diego Maradona led his team to a silverware as captain.
