The Spurs put an end to their 18-game losing streak by defeating the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers 129-115 on Friday night. LeBron James made a return with 23 points and 10 rebounds after missing the Lakers’ previous game due to a bruised left calf.
Anthony Davis, who had an impressive 37-point, 10-rebound game in the Lakers’ win on Wednesday, sat out with a hip injury. The Lakers were further hampered by the absence of D’Angelo Russell (migraine) and Cam Reddish (right knee soreness). This victory marked San Antonio’s first since their triumph over Phoenix on Nov. 2 and broke the franchise’s longest losing streak, surpassing the 16-game skid from the previous season.
