Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi has decided to stay with the Spanish team rather than to ink with Liverpool.
Martin (25), who was part of Spain’s team that triumphed with the Euro 2024 trophy, was wanted by the Premier League club after they were informed the midfielder wanted to leave in the current transfer window.
The Reds pushed for a transfer as they thought Zubimendi, who came on for Rodri at half-time in the number 6 position for La Roja in their European championship final victory vs. England, would have bolstered the midfield options at head coach Arne Slot’s disposal.
However, Sociedad did everything possible to convince Zubimendi to stay, and in the end, they achieved that goal.
The Reds are yet to ink a major player in the current transfer window and start their EPL season at Ipswich at the beginning of the weekend.
