Barca trash Girona 4-1 in the derby of Catalonia

Barcelona won the derby against Girona 4-1 at Estadio Municipal de Montilivi, and the phenomenal start of the new campaign in LaLiga continues as the team won all of their 5 matches so far and are in the 1^st place with 15 points – 4 more than 2^nd placed Real Madrid.

The 17-year-old forward Lamine Yamal dominated in the 1^st half as he scored both of the goals in the 1^st 45 minutes of the match. He opened the score in the 30^th minute as only 7 minutes later, Yamal found the net again to double his side’s lead after an assist from Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona started in the best way possible the 2^nd half as Dani Olmo needed only 2 minutes to make the lead 3 goals after an assist from Kounde. Pedri made things even worse for the home side with his goal in the 64^th minute after an assist from Marc Casado.

Cristhian Stuani scored for Girona in the 80^th minute to make the deficit only 3 goals for his team, but it was already too late for something more. Ferran Torres received a direct red card in the 86th minute and left Barcelona with 10 players on the pitch until the end.
