Barcelona clinched important 2-1 win versus Porto in the Champions League to secure a spot in the knockout stage of the competition with one round to go. Ironically, Barca’s goal scorers against the Portuguese side were the Portugal internationals Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
Porto scored a goal in the 26th minute which was disallowed due to offside as Joao Mario crossed into the Barcelona penalty area, where Evanilsson headed on to Mehdi Taremi, but the Iran international was behind the last defender.
Porto took a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute. Galeno bursted forward and passed to Mehdi Taremi, who shot but the ball was blocked by Jules Kunde. The ball fell to the feet of Pepe Aquino, who was alone against Iñaki Peña and made no mistake to score.
Barcelona very quickly managed to equalize in the 32nd minute. Pedri passed to Joao Cancelo, who entered the penalty area, beat Joao Mario and with a very nice low shot put the ball into the bottom left corner of Diogo Costa’s goal.
Just few seconds after the break Joao Felix controlled the ball very well, then immediately shot from a distance, but the ball hit the crossbar of Diogo Costa’s goal. In the 57th minute. Joao Cancelo broke down the left side, then passed to Joao Felix very well in the visitors’ penalty area, and he only deflected the ball into the bottom left corner of Diogo Costa’s goal.
