The forward of the French national team Olivier Giroud did not hide his satisfaction with the team’s record 14-0 victory against Gibraltar in the qualifiers for Euro 2024.
“Perfect evening. Coach told us to have fun while being serious. It wasn’t easy to find the motivation to keep scoring, but we wanted to set a goalscoring record. We had a lot of fun tonight. It was difficult for Gibraltar, especially when they were down to ten men, but they fought well,” Footmercato quoted Giroud.
Giroud scored two goals: in the 89th minute and in the 90th+1st minute of the match, with which he made the final 14-0 score.
After seven rounds of Euro 2024 qualifiers, the France team has collected 21 points and is in first place in Group B. Gibraltar team has not a single point and is in last place.
